Ultimate California Pizza Game Zone creates a pizza that is loved by both tourists and locals alike in a the ultimate kid-friendly setting of arcade games filled with prizes to win. Baseball is known as the nation’s pastime and is a sport people are both passionate about watching and playing. In Myrtle Beach, we have a youth baseball program called The Ripken Experience that is dedicated to the development of the players on and off the field. We at UCP Game Zone have a longtime partnership with the Ripken Experience, believing it one that just makes since, combining what kids love – pizza, games and the sport of baseball.
UCP Game Zone believes in supporting the community and helping support kids whenever we have the opportunity. We stand behind all that the Ripken Experience stands for and are proud to partners with them. The Ripken Experience brings aspiring players together to further their involvement and success in the sport of baseball and create a community. They use the nine innings of baseball to correlate with nine values including perseverance, integrity, fun, passion, commitment – to name a few.
The Ripken Experience takes place at a state of the art complex in Myrtle Beach. This complex offers players the opportunity to get a taste of what it’s like to play in the big leagues. Their complex is home to nine replicas of historic major league fields such as Polo Grounds, Ebbets Field, and Westside Grounds. Players are also able to get in some valuable training at the batting cages, bullpens, and training facilities located on the property.
Ripken hosts tournaments for an average of 60 teams per week. With each team having 15 players, on top of their own personal cheering section (their families), these tournaments are bringing in over four thousand people each week to Myrtle Beach who are either hoping to hit their next homerun or who can’t resist the opportunity to enjoy a hotdog while watching one of the greatest sports in the world.
For the future Derek Jeters who haven’t had the chance to attend a tournament at Ripken’s, they do host a summer league. The league runs for 10 weeks and consists of multiple games played a day to help hone your skills. To help keep things running smoothly and to make sure your player has everything they need, Ripken houses upwards of 40 interns who help run the park. If you can’t attend the summer league, make sure to be on the lookout for other opportunities. They host additional leagues throughout the season. Ripken is also proud to offer a softball tournament. Jenny Finch leads the “Throw Like A Girl” softball tournament. Finch is a former collegiate All-American and a medal winning Olympian.
As a proud partner, we are excited for all the wonderful opportunities this program provides to children. To help make your child’s experience even better, we join Ripken and the team’s they’re hosting on Sunday’s to help kick-off the tournaments. This tournament kick-offs include a celebrity guest speaker, who gets to dine on our tasty dishes from Ultimate California Pizza, as we prepare for the opening pitch. In the past, guest speakers have included the likes of Cal Ripken Jr., Tim Raines, and Eddie Murray. Also as a part of our partnership, we offer a foul ball coupon freebie that kids can receive for returning foul balls.
