Baseball is back swinging, hockey has taken center ice, basketball is dribbling around and even football seems ready for prime time. We may still be limited to who we can be in contact with and how many people we can hang out with, but that doesn’t mean we can’t have a good time and eat good pizza. Here are our recommendations on how to create a perfect pizza for a party, even if it is just for your family!

Step 1: Go to https://orderonline.ultimatecaliforniapizza.com/ucp order your pizzas. Step 2: enjoy.

Just kidding. Of course, that is one way to go about it, but let’s make it more enjoyable for the family or even a date night in. Let’s host a Build Your Own Pizza Night Party.

Step 1 (for real this time): CRUST – pizza needs an excellent foundation. There are a couple of ways you could go about this. The easy way involves buying a premade crust when you pick up the other items you need. The more enjoyable way is to make your own crust! You can check out our blog post from April 2020 on how to make your own pizza dough here: https://ultimatecaliforniapizza.com/2020/04/27/make-your-own-pizza-dough/

Step 2: SAUCE – a good foundation is important but the second layer. While we can’t give out the secrets of our sauce we can recommend a quick 5-minute recipe. You will need 6 of tomato paste, 15 oz tomato sauce, 1-2 TBS oregano, 2 TBS Italian seasoning, ½ tsp garlic powder, ½ tsp onion powder, ½ TBS garlic salt, and ¼ tsp freshly ground black pepper. To make the sauce mix the tomato paste and sauce together in a bowl, add the remainder of the ingredients and blend until there are no lumps and all parts are well combined. Be sure to spread effectively across the crust. Make sure you refrigerate any extra to use for next time!

Step 3: CHEESE – the cheese you choose is important. The gold standard for pizza cheese has always been mozzarella. Mozzarella has a straight forward flavor, is almost perfectly consistent, and melts easily with great coverage. But it isn’t the only option. Provolone serves as an amazing substitute. Provolone is a semi-hard cheese that is very closely related to mozzarella. At Ultimate California Pizza we have several other options as well. You can find mozzarella, feta, smoked gouda, mild cheddar, crumbled bleu cheese, swiss, provolone, and monterey jack. It really is more about the flavor profile you are looking for.

Step 4: TOPPINGS – now is the time to get extremely creative! Not including sauce and cheese offerings, Ultimate California Pizza has almost 40 options for toppings. Of course, we are suggesting you need to that extravagant.  This can also be the perfect time to try some new combinations. Go Nuts!

Step 5: BAKE – Check out our April Blog post for more on this step as well. The easy suggestion is to set the oven to 475 degrees and toss it in the oven for 12 – 15 minutes, but it is more involved than that. You need to watch to make sure cheese melts and the pizza cooks evenly.

Step 6: SLICE, EAT, AND ENJOY! We don’t think it is necessary to provide much more instruction than that for this step.

For the party aspect, you have a few options. You can set up and just enjoy the making of your own pizzas, you could make pizzas that everyone enjoys, or you could even pull names out of a hat and try to make the perfect pizza for someone else. Whatever you choose to do, we are certain that this is a great way for you to enjoy the pizza and the party. If this feels like too much work, never fear, Ultimate California Pizza is right here in Myrtle Beach. Just give us a call, we can make a pizza to satisfy any taste!
