Pizza can be delicious and fulfilling, but it can also be a healthy meal choice when you put a little extra thought into its preparation. So many chains use frozen ingredients that trade healthy for high calories, high fat, and high sodium. But you don’t have to follow that model.
Practicing portion control, choosing options with limited ingredients, or swapping out healthier topping selections are all great options for the health-conscious pizza obsessed. But it doesn’t have to stop there. You could try a lighter sauce option or cut your pizza into smaller slices. You could swap out the traditional crust for a cauliflower crust. Many people like to use a gluten-free crust, but you have to be careful with gluten-free options. While it may help you avoid other issues, gluten-free does not necessarily mean low-calorie.

Studies suggest that EVOO can help lower blood sugar and reduce inflammation. Mozzarella cheese is relatively low-fat and low-calorie cheese. Provolone is a very low cholesterol cheese. Pair that with high protein yet lean filet and plenty of onions and peppers, and you have a great healthier option!
Sonoma – Garlic Herb EVOO, mozzarella cheese, smoked gouda cheese, pulled chicken, tomatoes, and fresh spinach. We already mentioned the health benefits of a pizza built with an EVOO base. In addition, gouda is packed with Vitamin K2. Vitamin K2, aka the miracle vitamin, is believed to help prevent many common diseases.
Moon Doggie – Pesto sauce, mozzarella cheese, provolone cheese, feta cheese, pulled chicken, tomatoes, and artichoke hearts. Pesto sauce is great because there isn’t any sugar and a very little salt. Just like anything else, pesto is healthy in moderation. It can be high in calories, but it also contains many nourishing ingredients. Pesto tends to be rich in vitamins, minerals, and monounsaturated fats. Pesto will give you what you need to help maintain cell health and keep your heart healthy.
